In the 1930’s the first Bakelite telephones were introduced into the UK, and remained the standard iconic telephone for almost 30 years. In the 1960’s these were relaced by what are now regarded as retro telephones, the 706 and 746 telephones. These Retro telephones also became the iconic telephone of the 1960,s 1970’s and 1980’s.
